General WH&S Policy

It is company policy in the area of Work Health and Safety and welfare to provide a safe and healthy workplace for all our staff, contractors and members of the public.

The Company is dedicated to improving every aspect of health and safety, involving all staff and sub-contractors by reducing or eliminating any risks and hazards in the workplace. This includes providing sufficient resources to comply with the WH&S Act and Regulations as well as relevant Industry Codes Of Practice.

The promotion and maintenance of a pertinent and up to date Work Health and Safety program within our company is the key responsibility of management. Management at all levels are required to be trained and be able to contribute to the health and safety of all personnel within the workplace.

Work Health & Safety Program

In order to implement the general provisions of this policy, the Company will establish and monitor a program of procedures and activities relating to WH&S.

These include:

  • WH&S training and induction of all staff and visitors
  • Induction training for all new staff and visitors
  • Safe workplace design and procedures
  • Documentation of Safety rules and penalties
  • Documentation of grievance and disciplinary procedures
  • Investigation of changes to work methods to improve safety
  • Provision of PPE in the workplace
  • Hazard identification and workplace inspections
  • Risk assessment
  • Training of emergency procedures
  • Consultation with staff on WH&S issues
  • Safety and WH&S audits

WH&S Policy Specific Responsibility


All levels of management are required to ensure that this policy and the WH&S Program is effectively implemented in their area of control. The manager is to support supervisors and assist them with their specific responsibilities.


Supervisors are responsible, and will be held accountable, for taking all practical measures to ensure that the workplace they control is without risk to health. The supervisors shall ensure persons working at that workplace behave in a safe manner. If the supervisors do not have the necessary authority to fix the problem, they will be held accountable for the reporting of the matter promptly along with the solution to their manager.


Employees are required to co-operate and comply with the managements WH&S policies and programs to ensure their own health and that of their fellow workers and the general public. All employees are required to report any unsafe conditions or act.


Contractor and sub-contractors engaged to work for the company are required as part of their contract, to comply with the WH&S policy and programs, in accordance with Work Health & Safety Act and regulations, observing directions on health and safety matters from supervisors, employees or officers.

Failure to comply with these directions will be considered  a breach of the contract and sufficient grounds to terminate the contract.


Visitors the Company sites are required as part of their visiting rights to comply with Work Health & Safety policy and programs, observing directions on health and safety matters from all employees or designated officers. Failure to comply or observe these directions could result in visitors being required to leave the site.
